Here is the some of the same answer to a diffent post:
Most of these companies are renting office space, in some cases companies may buy the office space within an office park from a developer, in a condominium type purchase.

I would also like to point out that there are quite a few reputable developers and builders out there and that the real estate market in Costa Rica is definitely up and coming. I am not saying that you will experience 100% and 300% returns in a year or two, but there are good opportunities particularly if you want something you can enjoy living in meanwhile. The commercial market could be very profitable as well, since it does seem that almost weekly a new company announces a new call center here that will hire 100 or 500 or 1000 people.
The reputable builders and developers maybe aren't as visible for 2 reasons:
- They have to spend their income on developing actual infrastructure whereas brochures and empty promises are a lot cheaper and leave you a lot more money to purchase advertising in the US or pay telemarketing commissions.
- They may not advertise or promote themselves on the Internet as much since many have all the projects they can handle. Or are selling through local media to people who are actually living here or visiting here.
