Our old Sony Ericsson cell phone we use at the beach for internet connection is near the end of its life.  I would like advice from others who have used bluetooth enabled phones for wireless connection to laptops for internet service.  It uses to work fairly well, not fast, but better than having to go to town to check email.  I have heard some brands and models pick up better in general, but I have also learned that even some of the less expensive brands and models do quite well on the beach.  We live near Parrita on the beach at Playa Palo Seco.  This is fairly important since we are trying to run a new little hotel/cabina business which our son manages for us.  Land lines are not currently available at Palo Seco so we depend on cell phones for all communications with our son and for our new business.  We might even consider one of the new PDA type cell phones if that would be more reliable.

Thanks,

I have a Treo 650 Smartphone that has a excellent reception almost everywhere and bluetooth.  ICE is implementing Internet service on the GSM phones officially right now.  However the best advice would be to take a survey around town to find the phones or brands that work best in the area you need to use it most.

Also I would recommend buying locally for the guarantee and compatiblity.  I found the difference in price was about $100 between prices on the Internet and in stores here.
