I'm looking for any references for George Lunquist tours...regarding living in CR. I would like any info before I make air flight plans and send him a deposit check. The web site is
http://www.costaricaretireonss.com/index.htm      It is called Retire In Costa Rica On Social Security.

Thanks for any info asap.

It never hurts to get a second opinion on what facts and viewpoints you will here on the tour, but this seems like a good place to start and I have read some of George's articles in local media and he seems like a straight shooter.  This should be a good way to get your feet wet, and help you plan a follow up trip where you go on your own.

Molly and I went on George's tour last February, on our first trip to CR. George shoots straight, and is a no BS guy. You learn an incredible amount in 4 days. While I don't see the tour as a "retire on Social Security tour", it is about how to retire in the "real" (read "not Americanized" Costa Rica for reasonable sums of money. You visit 4 or 5 different areas in the Central Valley, visit all sorts of stores that real people frequent, compare prices, and so on. We even visited George's dentist! The tour equipped us to rent a car afterwards and travel around on our own for 5 days. The price, particularly for a couple, is extraordinary! - Some tours nearly double the price for a couple; George basically adds a couple of hundred dollars for food and drink. I highly recommend it for anyone.
Hummingbird, I don't know if you've booked a tour or not, but if you haven't, please do. You won't be sorry. If you have any Type A tendencies, though, park them at the border!

Pura vida!
