i travelled to costa rica and specifically tamarindo in february and march of this year and loved it. i spent two weeks travelling around various seaside towns, and decided that i needed to move to costa rica for at least part of the year. i am interested in pursuing the possibilities of owning a small property in tamarindo. something like $125,000 canadian. where do i begin? what do i need to do to get the ball rolling on this?

congratulation to the first step to get a piece of paradise. At the moment it is hard to find any house less than US$100.000. The lowest priced lot we have in Tamarindo at the moment is US$48,000 for 350 m² (3700sqft) . Comes with all services and is located 300m  (300 yards) from the beach.

We have another lot about the same distance from the beach, 3 times bigger (1/3 acre) for US$90,000.

Outside of Tamarindo within a 10-15 min driving distance to Tamarindo and 5 different beaches you can get 1ha lots (10,000m² or 2.5 acre) for US$45,000 and up and further inland for even less or bigger sized for the same price.

If you want a vacation home we recommend to get at least a lot to build on so you stop increasing the prices. (yearly average was 15-30% since the last 10 years)
